22” Antique German Bisque & Composition Doll – Marked “Special 4 Germany” – Mystery Doll / Likely AW Special – #583

Beautiful antique German bisque head and composition doll, measuring approximately 22 inches tall. The back of the head is marked “Special 4 Germany.” This doll was previously listed as a mystery doll, and after comparing the marking and style, she may possibly be an AW Special / Adolf Wislizenus German doll from the early 1900s. This attribution is not guaranteed.

She has a sweet antique face with brown glass sleep eyes, an open mouth with upper teeth, painted lashes, rosy cheeks, and a lovely expression. She has a blonde wig and comes dressed in a white floral dress with a pink ribbon belt.

The doll has an antique composition body with normal age-related wear, typical for an antique doll.

Condition:Antique pre-owned condition. The doll shows normal age-related wear, minor stains, discoloration, surface wear, paint wear, and old glue/residue around the head/wig area. The wig is old and a little messy. The dress is vintage/old and may show light age wear. The eyebrows and/or facial coloring may have been touched up at some point. I did not remove the head or fully inspect the inside, so please review all photos carefully.
