23" Rare German bisque doll closed mouth mold 949 by Simon&Halbig~fully dressed

This less often found lovely German doll is a great example of one of the early 900 series by master dollmaker Simon & Halbig. She has a pouty face with full cheeks, closed mouth and rosy cheeks. Her bisque is very fine and is without cracks, hairlines or restoration. She has set, blue glass paperweight eyes. She has a sturdy straight wristed Sonnenberg composition body . Her mohair vintage wig is top quality! The hair is curly and very soft!

Marks: Incised on the back of the head is S 14 H, indicating the firm Simon & Halbig and her size. She is marked with her mold number 949. Her Body is unmarked.

She is dressed in a beautiful antique silk taffeta dress, decorated with lace, silk ribbons and glass buttons. The dress is complemented by a beautiful antique hat with blue feathers and vintage underwear made of cotton and antique lace. On the doll's feet are beautiful openwork knitted knee socks and shoes made of genuine leather, decorated with brass buckles. The doll is fully dressed, clean, well-stretched rubber bands and ready to become a diamond in your collection!
