Antique 23"/58cm Simon & Halbig 1079 DEP Doll | German Bisque Head | Original
This beautiful 23" (58 cm) antique Simon & Halbig 1079 DEP doll was made in Germany for the French market and is a wonderful example of early 20th-century German craftsmanship.
She has a finely modeled bisque porcelain head in excellent antique condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. Her large sleeping gray glass eyes open and close smoothly, giving her a gentle, expressive face. The doll has pierced ears fitted with beautiful earrings.
She wears an antique human hair wig, carefully styled into soft curls and secured with traditional metal hairpins beneath a charming straw hat.
The doll is strung on her original antique composition body, which remains in very good condition for its age. The glossy finish shows normal age-related wear and rubbing, while the lovely original red accents on both fingers and toes are still preserved. There is one tiny hairline crack on a finger, which does not affect display or stability.
She comes beautifully dressed in a combination of antique undergarments and newly handcrafted clothing.
